This past Monday I was able to sit in Caleb's CC class :) He went in full uniform as Officer Harris because his presentation topic was what he wanted to be when he grew up.

If you know Caleb, you know that is a Police Officer.

Him in his class.

He and Cohen are the only boys among 5 girls.

He is the youngest in the class but does great!

 

He got right up and talked about why he wanted to be one

YMCA Soccer

The boys are both signed up for YMCA Soccer this year and are loving it so far. Saturday was their first game and both boys did great working as a team and even scored 3 goals each. Well Caleb scored 2 for green and 1 for blue 

:)

They are having so much fun doing this!

Field Trip Friday

Fridays are pretty simple in our homeschool. Cohen doesn't have much work to do and we always go to the library or some outing on Fridays :) Today was downtown Roanoke and Grams joined us!

 Started off at the Roanoke Co op downtown for some snacks and juice boxes then came to this cute bakery on the market.

Center in the Square

They have a very neat aquarium.

They learned about clown fish, jellyfish and loved the turtles!

 

Ended up at the Downtown Library on Jefferson St. complete with a childrens section- with a slide!

The kids thought this was so cool!

 

Their kids section was really cute!

Our Week

Still caring for our sweet chicks. They have survived their first week :)

We think one may be sick but we hope she makes it!

Enjoyed Spring weather! :)

 

Cohen found shells at the river.

Caleb found a stick.

 

Presley just enjoyed this stick- she did find some shells too!

 

The kids finished the winter reading program at our local library so they got their certificates!

 

Spring Chicks

We got more chicks!

The hardware store was selling all female chicks 3 $10. A deal we couldn't pass up since we were looking for more female chickens.

The kids of course are ecstatic.

Cohen, our veterinarian. He has a very special love for animals- and they love him too!

Calebs face says it all.

Every chance the kids get we catch them in the bathroom checking on the chicks.
Hopefully within a few weeks when they get bigger and it gets consistently warmer we can move them to our coop but for now they live in our bathroom. (and chirp all night long) :)

Geography

Cohen is doing really well with Geography this year and can identify over half the states if you show him a blank map and knows some of the states if I give him the capital and vice versa. We often review over lunch so excuse his full mouth :)

Family Devotions are the best part of the day.

What verse did we talk about and memorize this week? 

Ephesians 4:29

 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Zach and I realized this was becoming a big issue in our home, hence the verse for the week.

Hunter Caleb

I can guess who is going to be the hunter of the family.

He checked out these 3 books from the library.

Duck Hunting

Deer Hunting

Pheasant Hunting 

He enjoys to check out whatever Uncle Phil has hunted and Zach and I have no clue about this kind of stuff so hopefully Phil can introduce him and teach him. Caleb exclaims he can't wait to bring us home meat for Mommy to cook.

I still can't get over his birthmark in his hair- I love it!

 A trip to the doctor for 3rd degree burns for our little girl.

Over a year later she still loves to "treat" her burn with medicine.

We were often putting cream on it to help the scar and she still enjoys doing it and saying 

"my boo boo-  my burn".

So thankful some of the skin grew back :)

It is a nice scar though- one she will always have to remember New Years Day 2014.

This past Saturday we were able to celebrate another karate graduation :) Cohen is now an orange belt! 

He in on schedule to graduate every 3 months until he has his black belt.

 

Starting Saturday both boys will start soccer through the YMCA. They are both really excited. Especially Caleb!
