Cohen could not have asked for a better 5th birthday!

1. Because it snowed Zach didn't have to run his route that day.

2. Because it snowed there was also no church which meant Cohen could pick anywhere for dinner, he chose Red Robin!

3. Because it snowed he got to play in the snow with his BFF Jax.

Classical Conversations

Some people have asked me what Classical Conversations is (the homeschool group we are involved in, and I tutor for and love it!)  I found this awesome video :)

Happy 5th Birthday Cohen

I can't take it that our first born is 5 today! 

We are so thankful and blessed that he we are called to be his parents.

We told Cohen we loved him and didn't want him to grow up that we decided this birthday he would be 4 again instead of 5. He believed us! We finally told him he was really going to be 5 :)

One thing have I asked of the Lord,

Someone is having a birthday this week :)

bathtub pj and randoms

We have someone who loves the bathtub! 

and whose brothers love to do her hair.

Normally I don't let the boys bathe with her but this was a special treat, and one the boys totally took advantage of her hair. 

Cohen sets our table in the evenings for dinner and I am so impressed and how he has done it based on his own opinion on how it goes, even it is is "wrong and really hard to see.

The cold doesn't stop us from playing outside! Presley loves the four wheeler but daddy has to ride and help her :)

For CC this week their presentations had to be on something they have made. So Cohen and Daddy made a tee pee out of popsicle and lollipop sticks and straw. I thought this was so cute. And then Cohen decided to turn it into the nest for his angry birds. 

The First Snowfall of 2014

Was exciting!

Our children loved watching the snow fall.

Beautiful. So beautiful. A work of mighty hands!

 

Fun! The kids took turns running down the hill, sledding, and rolling. 

Caleb was running around exclaiming "It's Christmas!!!"

This girl, mesmerized. She followed right along with her brother and played.

We ended up not doing school until 11am so we could play outside with our neighbors and enjoy hot chocolate with them :) So glad we did because... by nap. It melted.

Wintertime Blues

We can only play so much Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Wii and playdoh before we get desperate.

Sleep Positions

Every night before bed I go and check on our babies :)

 

This one, living on the edge! I thought he was going to fall off!

This, is Miss P's favorite sleeping position.

And Duke, who normally sleeps on our window seat but tonight he wanted to lay on the floor, on our pillow, right beside the bed. So sweet.

Basketball 2014

Cohen loved basketball this past Saturday at the YMCA, he also loved the fact that his best friend Jax is on the same team! This was his first game ever played and he made 4 baskets!

The time has come, this one loves her baby dolls. Well sometimes, sometimes she throws them on the floor but when no one is watching, she rocks them, "shhh"s them, and tries to feed them a bottle. She did let me swaddle her baby and take her picture. I can't take how precious this is!

And Cohen, this is this thing he does and Zach and I die laughing, he does his face like that and claps and he loves doing it for us. How funny! We were doing this in the doctor office today to pass time :) (and to send this picture to daddy to make him smile)

And this describes our past week. 

Updates: Presleys arm is looking better, still thinking no plastic surgery, but it is not where the doctor wants it at this point, so we will go back in a week to re discuss. Cohen, still fighting the strep but now he is fever free and back to our sweet boy :)

How we brought in 2014....

We played on Daddy.

We learned how to wash dishes

We made a very early trip to the doctor, not for Presleys burn but for sick sick brother Cohen.

Cohen took a lot of  "fever baths" one night Zach buzzed his hair, but left a mohawk!

It didn't last 24 hours thanks to Mommy :)

We snuggled and watched movies since Cohen was so sick.

and drank out of dora sippies.

Went to the doctor for Presleys burn. 

Severe. Gross.Sweet girl.

"Mimi" as Pres calls her went with us too since Z was home with sick Cohen. She went for moral support, and maybe to hold Presley down.

Two days later we returned to the doctor to check her burn.

Healing good!

Back next week.

This sweet hand, will have a scar, but her cuteness will make it cute :)

Because I know you are wondering, I was making a glaze to go on a cake, Presley opened the microwave, pulled it out, instant burn. We doctored it at home but finally went in a few days later when I was looking worse, there is a possibility of a surgeon to help the skin heal in the right direction but Praise God and his healing hand, that she looks like she won't need that :)

Cohen, had scarlet fever for 7 days and strep throat. Now, on a mends to recovery! 

Our New Years week we spent in the doctor office 3 times in one week, but we also snuggled, and enjoyed a sick boy and an injured girl. Pretty good way to bring in the New year!
