11 months old!

Yesterday Cohen was 11 months old. This means one month until our baby is no longer a baby and is more of a little boy :( This also means one month to plan his FIRST birthday party. Some things to remember about this age:
-He tries very hard to talk but blabs and yells instead
-He cruises on furniture or anything he can get his hands on
-He can walk while pushing things around like a car, his walker, his truck
-He can climb the inside of the fridge
-He is becoming more clingy (separation anxiety)
-He is very into daddy right now, when Zach is here I am totally pushed on the back burner :(
-He does not sit still, ever.
-Sleeps all through the night except for when I take him a bottle at about 3am
-Wakes up anywhere from 6-7
-Takes two naps a day
-Hates sitting in a grocery cart, tries to stand up so then I put him in the big part and he holds himself on the side and grins at all the shoppers who ooo and aaaa at him.
-LOVES his Grammy, when he sees her or hears her voice he kicks his legs and gets very excited
-He likes chocolate chip cookies (Thanks Momaw)
-Hates wearing hats.


Poor Cohen was sick on his 11 month birthday, Grammy took him to the doctor yesterday morning b/c I couldn't because I have the swine flu and didn't want to be around other babies but the doctor said that he had the flu, conjunctivitis and the same ear infection that he has had for 3 months now. He is on the same flu medicine that I am on and an antiboitic that we have not tried before for his ear. I hate when my little buddy is sick :(

If you happy and you know it clap your hands...

Cohen can now clap his hands!!! He officially did it yesterday and did it for a VERY long time so we sang the song over and over and over : ) But of course I loved seeing his expression while doing it because he was so proud of himself. We have been working on teaching him to clap his hands for about a week now so I am very proud of him. I will post a pic as soon as I can get him doing it.

December 2009

This has been a great month for us! Cohen has said his first word, he is becoming more and more aware of things around him and wanting to explore and learn. Here are some pictures from the snowstorm we had with 2 ft!! As well as some other pictures :)

Christmas 2009 : )

Christmas was amazing this year! We celebrated Christas Eve at church worshipping our newborn king and it was a GREAT service. The next morning we got up about 7am and let Cohen open all his presents from "Santa" then we headed down the hill to Momaws and Popaws where Cohen got a riding horse, lots of books and clothes! After that we went to my moms (Grammys) where we opened MORE presents! Cohen was definately on Toy overload!!! It was an amazing first Christmas for him and definately for Zach and I. We are truely blessed.

Christmas Time is near....

It's been a couple of days since I have written on here but my camera is MIA :( So I wont have pictures until I find it, but I wanted to blog because so many things have happened the past few days :)

First was our HUGE snow fall. We got 2 ft of snow! I have pictures which I will post soon, Cohen wasn't able to go in it because he is not even 2 ft tall and I didn't want him to sink but I showed him the snow and he liked it. We also went and exchanged gifts with Haley and her mom for Christmas and they got Cohen a sliding board which he loves to climb and I push him down and he laughs and laughs and they also got him a nerf football which he loves to hold (typically boy).
Zach and I did something this year that we have never done before, this is our first Christmas with Cohen and I am not working so we decided to spend all of our Christmas money on him for new toys and educational books and games but Zach and I decided we would fill each others stockings, so we went to Target and split up and went and picked out each others stuff, it was a neat experience because anytime we would pass each other at Target we couldn't look what the other one had, so it was a fun experience. :)
The girls and I held our annual gift exchange at my house this year since we just moved into the new house. It was so nice, Haley, Aisha, Terin, Turner, Leigh and Erin all came up and brought a dish and we had a formal dinner then dessert and opened gifts. It is such a blessing to still be friends with the same girls that I have been friends with for over 10 years!

First word :):)

Well.... Cohen has said his first word. It took him awhile to finally get it then all of a sudden, he said it!! Then he said it multiple times. His first word was......DUKE!! Our dog. Cohen and duke have a very special bond. Before Cohen was even born Duke would lay his head on my tummy and became very protective over zach and I. The day we brought Cohen home Duke greeted him with a kiss :)Ever since then they play together and Cohen pulls on Dukes fur as Duke just lays there, I dont know any dog that would do that. So it makes sense why this would be Cohens first real word.

Christmas Decorations 2009

Well it is our first Christmas at the new house as a family! We are so excited to watch Cohen see all his gifts on christmas morning! He will probably be more excited over the paper and not the gifts themselves but his face will be priceless! We took him to see Santa this year and the picture was GREAT! He loved Santa, well he didn't really know what was going on and was more intrigued by Santa's outfit and beard then anything else. Once I can figure out how to get the picture uploaded on here I will be sure to post, but here are some pictures of our house decorated :):)

Cohen at 10 months old

-he is a great sleeper, goes to be around 630 and sleeps until about 7 the next morning!
-he is eating solid foods, basically anything that he can't choke on.
-still a couple bottles each day
-takes two good naps! each about an hour/hour and a half
-he is still sleeping in his swing due to a crib recall
-he takes medicine like a champ :) with all these ear infections and acid reflux he is used to having medicine.
-he has SEVEN teeth now! from what I can see, he wont let me open his mouth and look.
-he loves electrical outlets, so I have to put covers on every single one of them.
-duke is his best friend and he even shares his snack with duke.
-cohen also likes to eat his snack and offer you a bite of it, super cute.
-cohen can crawl really really fast but he does try to cruise along side of the couch.
-he got a new toy that he can push to help him learn how to walk on his own.

I decided to blog because.....

I tried to blog before then realized that I didn't have much to actually blog about, until we had Cohen. Now I am finding myself asking questions like how old was cohen when he did this or that etc. He is now becoming so much more active and soon will be walking and talking and I want to track each and every milestone of his life :) This should get interesting!! Keep everyone posted!

ahh, stairs!

Cohen now can climb the stairs!!! He used to go and stand on the bottom on the first one and just hold himself there, now he has discovered he can crawl up them!! time for babygates :) our little boy is getting to be sooo big. It seems like yesterday that he would sit in his bumbo all day long and never get tired of it, now he is exploring everything!!!! We have been working on teaching him words such as nose, ear, mommy, daddy. you can tell he is very interested but not there yet!

We also had Lisa, Viv and Kate over for lunch today. Cohen loves to play with Viv, he likes to have other kids around to play with. I think we need to work with his socialization skills a little more because he doesn't seem to know the concept of "sharing" disadvantage of being an only child with no day care. I'll work with him, I promise! It was so nice to have them over, sometimes us stay at home moms need adult conversations especially with other moms who have gone through the same things we do, etc. and its a BEAUTIFUL day in Dec :):)
