time to share..

The boys got something last week that they are pretty excited about.... bunk beds!  Cohen is super excited that he gets the top bunk and he can climb up and down the ladder. He is doing REALLY well :)  The first 2 times he slept in it we had some bed wetting issues but now hes doing so well! We remove the ladder during sleep times so he isn't climbing up and down. He is instructed to yell "I'm awake, I'm ready for my ladder" when he wakes and we will come put it back for him to go down and potty, or get up for the day. He actually is doing better in this then a regular bed as far as getting up, why didn't we think of this earlier! haha.  It has a wooden rail that is screwed in the top so he doesn't roll off. So far, so good :)

Now this guy...

doesn't look so happy but he too is excited about sharing a room with his brother.  He did his nap today in the bottom bunk and I put up the mesh rail to prevent him from falling out. He too did so well :) Both boys napped for 2 1/2 hours!

We are nervous but excited about this new change in the home. Its not just bunk beds. This means so much more. It means the boys will share a room.. forever.. and that Presleys arrival is just getting closer and closer!!

When both rooms are fully complete will show pictures, waiting on a few small details!

from snow angles to sidewalk chalk

3 days ago we saw this...

Today however was 70 degrees and beautiful!

We went to the park this morning and this afternoon we played with sidewalk chalk :)

played football and tag with duke

looked at the beautiful mountains

layed in the grass and watched the clouds

watched mommy play with her camera and take random shots. 

we watched caleb play and explore :)

we really enjoyed our day outside.... but this time not in gloves and hats... but in shorts!

Prayer Pail

Cohen's prayers are pretty much the same daily... it goes something like this..

"dear father, thank you for my mommy daddy caleb dukey and presblee, you are worthy, amen".

So when I saw this idea on ... you guessed it... pinterest, I had to do it!

A Prayer Pail!

You take wooden craft sticks and have the child think of things to pray for, put in pail and then before prayers they can grab one or two things specifically to pray for. They can be people, or things like obedience, patience, self control, etc.

We plan to put this beside Cohen's bed or at the dinner table :)

doctor appointment x 2

Cohen and Caleb had joint well check ups today. It was so nice of the doctors office to schedule Cohen's 3 year check up alongside Caleb's 15 month check up so it only made one visit to the office :) 

There was a lot of watching youtube videos on mommy's phone, coloring, counting the floor tiles, eating gummies and reading books on the Nook.

What season is it anyway?

Yesterday it was 68 degrees! The boys had on short sleeves and playing outside. Today however....

IT snows :)

we ended up pulling the boys on the sled with the 4 wheeler but my camera was getting soaked so i had to put it away. but it was quite the adventure and they really loved it :)

after we played we came in and put our wet clothes and boots by the wood stove and tried to get warm!

it was a really fun snow day!

Valentines Day

We had a really fun Valentines Day this year!!

The boys got to open Valentines from Grammy that she sent :)

I gave Zach a little something special and I got a handwritten love poem. Yes, a ZH original

hehe :)

One of the best gifts was this:

Lisa was my secret santa this past Christmas and one of her gifts was this...

Zach works at Interstate so Aaron gave him the day off, and Lisa watched the kids for 4 hours!! :)

The best part about Zach being off was that he had "monitor" duty all night while I slept on the other side of the bed and slept all night long. It was so nice! I was very refreshed and woke up at 6 and started making a homemade coffee cake with glaze for Z and the boys to enjoy when they got up! It didn't turn out pretty, but it was so good :)
 

Off to Vivian and Kates!

Zach and I went and walked the mall, and then had an early dinner at Logans before the crowds. It was so nice to have time with Z in the middle of the week on a Tuesday, even better it was Valentines Day!  It was totally out of our "zone" to do this which is what made it fun! Zach said he would rather work then have the day off and I am so used to being with the kids in the afternoons, it was... weird. But ended up being very special! Thank you Lisa F :)

Wednesday was the kids Valentines Day party at Church.

Special Time

Now that we have 2 kids (almost 3) we are recognizing the need to spend one on one time with each of them.  I try to average out my day with both boys, then doing a little one on one time.  Zach is also trying hard to make sure he is doing the same. One of the things we have started doing was Zach and Cohen time. They usually do this one Sunday a month and Z takes Cohen go kart racing! It's nice because it gives me time with Caleb, and Zach time with Cohen. The other weekend Grammy took Cohen and we both got one on one with Caleb! Once Caleb gets a little older we can alternate taking him fun places too! 

Off they go!

I'm going to pretend he was sad here b/c he didn't want to leave mommy. It was the opposite though. He actually told me I couldn't come because this was "special time"  Ouch

We had a great time alone, we got to do puzzles and build blocks! 
 And Cohen loves going racing!

Taaza!

Last night Zach and I were able to go on a date! Alone! Without kids! This is amazing! We haven't been out alone, just us no, no kids, no friends, etc in almost ONE YEAR! We have got to get better at this :)  My mom was so kind to insist to watch the boys so Z and I could go on a Valentine Date Night. It was so special! Thank you Grammy. I know the boys enjoyed it!

We went to Taaza. Its an Indian Restaurant on Franklin Road. We love the place but haven't been since Caleb was born.

I highly recommend it if you like Indian food, or if you are up for trying something different. It never disappoints us!

I was so excited/nervous about the whole date I forgot to get any pictures. :(
Best part of the date was on the way there Zach noticed I had lasagna (Calebs dinner) was on my neck. Oops. You can never escape motherhood :)

A trip to the mailbox : )

One of Cohen's birthday gifts from Grammy was a magazine subscription to Highlights Magazine :)  The best part about this gift is that Cohen gets to get the mail and have a special gift waiting on HIM!! He also loves to get "new books" all the time.  I knew it was in there from yesterday so I left it in there and told Cohen we had to go check the mail.....
