We are so thrilled that Cohen is saying more and more words. This makes it easier for him to have a conversation with Daddy when he is out of town :)

Let's make a path...

The other day I took Cohen down to Momaw's to play with his cousin Colton. They decided to take a visit to the goat :)

"Come on Colt, this way."

confirmed: he does love his "brrr"

The boys have been great about going to bed at the same time. After dinner, its bath, reading and bed for BOTH boys. Normally they both go down without a fuss. This evening we put both down and then shortly after we hear Caleb crying..... not 2 minutes later, here chimes in Cohen. I go to console Caleb while we decide to let Cohen cry it out. Well he never stops, so we go in there to make sure he didn't puke on himself (which has happened multiple times before). We go in and Cohen says "brrr, crying," "wanna kiss brrrr". For those who don't know "brrr" is "brother" which is what Cohen calls Caleb.


We knew he had it in him to love Caleb one day, and tonight he confirmed it :) They will be best buds!


Now, if I can just get this "kiss" on camera!

Happy 2 months Caleb!

Today marks 2 months since Caleb entered this world!
He has been such a blessing and pleasure :)

Here are some tidbits about Caleb.

• He weighs a little over 10 lbs
• He drinks 4 oz every 3 hours
• He sleeps in 3 hour increments during the night
• He loves to lay on his back (so different then Cohen was)
• Can wear most 0-3, some 3-6 month outfits
• He loves to take baths
• He hates shoes
• He hates hats
• He lets his older brother put his passy in his mouth :)
• He then spits it out.
• He is easily entertained
• Best baby ever!

was it really worth it?

It has been so cold out this winter that poor wild child Cohen has not been able to play outdoors. So anytime it is 40 degrees or above, we go out to play so he does not get stir crazy and can run out some of his energy. Today was one of those days :) Baby Brother was napping so I got Cohen all bundled up and out we went. He ran, he swung on the swings, he went down the slide, he threw his ball, and he rolled in some mud. I ran to the window to peek on baby Caleb sleeping and turned around.. and there he goes.. in the mud. It was too late then to stop him. His jeans were soaked, his black boots were brown, and his hat was off. So I decided I'd let him have fun with it. After all he is just a kid.

So was it really worth the trouble of getting the floors all muddy as we came in, dried mud all over the house, and a lot of shout stain removal?

Welcome Home Grammy!!

On Friday we, as in Cohen Caleb Papa Bill and I all had the pleasure of welcoming home Grammy at the airport. She was in Guam for 2 1/2 weeks visiting Amy and her sweet baby girl, Lena. I am so happy she had a safe flight to and from Guam! A big plus of meeting her at the airport was Cohen got to see the "hairplanes" come in.

cohen: "chuch"? (he doesn't say the r).
mommy: no buddy we are going to school today, we will do church tomorrow.
cohen: NOO!! chuch, chuch, chuch!
mommy: aw hunny you will have fun at school with your friends and ms. sandy.
(insert cohen screaming crying)
cohen: "no scoo, chuch, chuch, chuch."


Melted my heart that he loves his church family this much : )

Goodnight World

There are some days that more tiring than others. Today was one of them. high energy son plus cranky newborn and out of town Daddy makes for one exhausted Mommy. Its these days that I try to practice self disciple. Disciple of my tongue, patience and expressing love towards my family. I try hard because I know these are the days that it is very easy for me to become THAT woman. The mom that yells at her kids in the grocery store over something minor or the grumpy wife that hangs up on her husband because she is frustrated he is gone. By the way, I have NEVER done either of those. (okay so maybe I did, just once though).

So today I don't want my tiredness to get the best of me like so many times before. So far so good. I should go to bed now before I have to ask anyone for forgiveness tomorrow.

Glad tomorrow is a new day with restored energy.

The Lord's loving-kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassion's never fail. They are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness.

(ps. sorry cohen is wearing no pants, or diaper for that matter. when we are home he goes "bare" b/c we are working on potty training a little every day)

This is a typical morning at the Harris household. Cohen will turn over all the toys where his brother lays and they will "play". He will put things close to, or on Caleb's face. I have to monitor this activity closely.

Okay, I know you have seen the commercials. $19.95 a year for home phone service or $1.70 a month! No way, it must be horrible, or not legit. Good news my friends... its legit. We got it b/c our cells dont get great service in the hollar. Not to mention that now we have 2 small children and 911 may be a necessity. We were prepared to be disapponited, however, we are very impressed :) We even have a phone number, so call us!!

1 month checkup!

This post is should have been written before Christmas, sorry.

Caleb has his one month checkup December 23rd : ) Everything was perfect! He is in the 25 percentile for weight and height (no concerns) and 50 percentile for head circumference. We are used to our children's heads being bigger then their bodies (means they have big brains) ;)
He weighed in at 10.1 lbs and 22 inches long. He got his first round of shots, he was a tough boy!

time to move the knives...

This is our silverware drawer. Therefore we moved anything sharp such as knives, scissors, apple slicer, etc. ...pretty much everything we own is on top of our fridge.

ps: check out Caleb's car seat. he did this once with Caleb in it (not this picture). luckily he was strapped in.

The Rule: Don't worry about the housework when you have a baby around.
The Reality: Falling into total chaos does not help a new mom's stress level.

exactly, cohen AND caleb were both out DAYS after they were born. they are just fine!

2010 was full of many blessings : ) Here is a wrap up of things that happened in 2010.

Welcome 2011!

Zach and I got baptized in January 2010.



Zach lost his job.



Cohen got ear tubes.



Cohen got his first go kart!



Cohen turned ONE!



Cohen ate dog food.



He learned to use utensils.


We played outside



Cohen practiced walking...



Zach raced. He got Rookie of the Year 2010 and got 7th place in the points!



Zach got a job at VVT, now is a supervisor! :)



We attended birthday parties!



We went to Nags head.



I got pregnant!


We enjoyed many playdates



Cohen started Preschool at Bethel Baptist



Cohen started Melody Makers Music Class.



We got a playset.



Cohen tried to potty, sometimes he was successful!
