Teamwork and bug bites

Yesterday afternoon the boys decided to spruce up their "treehouse". They both worked to gather materials which included nails, wood, tree branches, a hammer, painters tape, glue, scotch tape, some rope, flashlight and who knows what else :) 

Caleb gathered materials on his tractor. 

         Cohen did it the harder way 

         They came up with a plan 

                 And got to work 

This sweet team work lasted hours! They made construction site signs and nailed wood and made it cozy in there with snacks and kept collecting wood because "winter is coming". 

You would think working like that would tire them but it didn't stop them from the nightly wrestling with daddy, and Presley. 

They both went to school today with notes and itch cream for the many many many bug bites they both got from the woods yesterday, but I think they would tell you it was worth it.

Thursday

Here are some random things from my phone :)

I noticed the other day that Caleb made the "wall" at school. It's in the main office and they change out the pictures each year and feature a few students. 

The rose ceremony. Caleb handed Graham his rose, and at the closing ceremony he hands it back to Caleb. Sweet tradition. I am trying to get the video up. :)

8/19/16

Today Caleb got paired with his senior buddy. We love that the school does this for the kindergartens :) they go on field trips with them, come read to them and do crafts and help them throughout the year.

Caleb was excited to get paired with Graham. 

Inceptio is this coming Wednesday where we pray for the school year and it's also a time that Caleb will present his senior with a rose, at the end of the year the senior passes down the rose. It's a sweet ceremony.

Let's all take a minute and be glad Presley is okay and that this wasn't the first day of school. Their power wheels flipped on top of her. She handled it well

and is better now :)

Back to her silly self one afternoon at the doctor after school (for Cohen).

First day 2016

The day has arrived! Presley was so excited she wore dress code clothes the day before school actually started. 

I think they were over my taking pictures!

            I'd say first day is success :) 

Their goal today was to tell me their favorite part of the day and one new person they met.

Cohen: enjoyed Math and met a girl named Hannah who is actually in Presley's class.

Caleb: enjoyed coloring and his friend is Cole

Presley: enjoyed making a craft of Pete the cat and she met a friend named Carson.

Cohen, Presley and I took a quick visit down to NC this past weekend, they enjoyed relaxing and Caleb enjoyed one on one with Daddy.

    He did really well and went pretty far!

We really missed Zach and Caleb but they had a good time going to a baseball game and the pool, and apparently lived it up by eating blue and red dye #40.

 We had to hurry home for school     orientation! All 3 are excited and ready!

Silkies

Our silkies are finally at our house now and the boys are thrilled! Presley didn't show interest in getting one, so she shares with the boys :)

Cohen showed his chicken, "wormie" his secret "tree house". 

    He showed her where he watches tv

          And then, they watched tv 

Caleb however was not as impressed after his chicken was very squirmy, he screamed and said "this chicken is too wild!" His chicken is named "Alvie".

           Cohen's chicken, loved it. They did this for a whole episode on TV. 

Caleb hasn't given up though, he tried again :)

"Feel my muscles". Cohen and Caleb are both in football cleats, and Cohen is wearing long sleeves in 80 degrees. 

Side note: you will see Cohen in this shirt approximately 48395 times. He loves it and wears it, a lot. 

Now the boys have hair to gel it's become part of the morning routine. It's really cute to watch them do it together each morning. Sometimes I have to hid the gel or threaten to go back to buzz cuts if they get too crazy with it.

This is the last week this boy can take naps before school starts in 6 days! 

I found this picture of Presley on my phone and was so impressed to learn Caleb took it of P one morning :)

This, drives me crazy, BUT Cohen has made this a secret "treehouse". It has tarps covering in case of rain, as well as an old picnic tablecloth, a jump rope to pull up friends, a baby gate to prevent falling out, and old wood and boards for extra support. It also has a password to get in. 

And on the lower level he nailed up his nerf guns. I love the creativity and special

place he can go when he wants to be alone. 

                     No cavities! 

Kitty Hawk

Enjoy pictures from our trip to Kitty Hawk. I only took like 6. 

The resort we stayed at held a dance competition. Cohen was all over this, he won the gold and got to stand on a podium and get his medal. He was the only one who participated. We love his confidence!

Late nights, early mornings call for late afternoon naps. 

We went go kart racing, twice. It's a favorite we do down there. 

Contest# 2. Splash contest. Caleb and Zach had some one on one time so Presley Cohen and Colton entered.

      We have been doing this beach trip    almost every year with Zachs family since before Cohen was born. 

                 Ping pong by the pool. 

The resort also had an indoor water park. 

The kids really enjoyed this when it was too hot or rainy.
