Pumpkin Carving!

Saturday night we finally decided to carve our pumpkin :)

leaves leaves everywhere!

we have been bombarded with leaves at our home and i love it :) yesterday cohen and i made a tiny leaf pile for him to jump in. he had such a blast and we can't wait til this weekend when daddy can blow ALL the leaves into a HUGE pile for the boys!

if you can't tell, caleb hated the leaves. i suppose they are itchy.

Forget a bed...

all ya need is a floor!

this is how cohen sleeps on a regular basis! i will always peek in on him during naps and at night and usually find this.

whenever i leave the room after i read books, say prayers, etc, he is in his bed so he must move as soon as i leave, hmmmm. i have tried to move him back into the bed but he wakes as soon as i get close to him :(

yay for saving

lately i have been intersted in couponing. not like the show extreme couponing, i dont need 68 bottles of soap, or 108 cans of soup, etc. however, anywhere i can save a buck, is nice :)

happy faux birthday lena bean :)

My sister and Lena have been in the states since April, but they actually left today (post to follow)  :(  Since they will be back in Guam on Lena's first birthday we decided to have a faux birthday party for her here before they go. She had guests, presents, party hat, cake, the whole deal!

caleb didn't understand why he didn't get any toys, his birthday comes first anyways! but lena shared!

cohen missed the party and decided to mow gramme's yard with supervision of his older cousin lee.

ew bugs!

cohen has really been into bugs lately. must be a boy thing :) i found these cute ideas online and decided we would make a day out of it! 

 bug breakfast that i made, he just ate the pretzels, eyes and the mouth, go figure

 i found these cute bugs at Michaels and bought them for Cohen to match.

i also got a bug catcher that i wasn't brave enough to break out but we will save for a nice summer day

Training Children to be Independant

I am a fan of training my children to do things "independently".  I am even a bigger fan of teaching my children to have servant hearts by cleaning around the home, helping others, serving in the community (when age appropriate) etc. So when I found this list I was in "awe".

(Not ALL of these I believe in or will do but this is just a starting point)

This checklist is perfect b/c I wonder if I am moving too quickly with Cohen by making him take his dishes to sink after dinner, memorizing mommy and daddys full name, knowing his birthday, etc. But this way I can know where I am being too lax and where I need to step it up!

He loves us!

Made me wonder after service what would Jesus say to me?? Would he say "I love you sweet Ashely. I have always loved you. I will never stop loving you, I will never leave you."  He would say, "My grace is sufficient for you"

 

We serve a loving God. I am reminded and trying to rest in His love today.

He will never leave me or forsake me. This I know because He says so.

•  I love this rain! We needed it soo much and the boys and I enjoyed being in our PJ's until 10am! (that is really late for us)

• I am LOVING these boots. I.heart.boots!

•  And most of all I am LOVING that its almost time for this....

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD!!!!

I had the pleasure of assembling shoe boxes this evening at church so grab one, or two from lobby and fill them for a child in need!

Zach went to Franklin Co Speedway on Oct 1st and came in 3rd place!!! We are so thrilled for him :)
