Cohen has graduated...

Into his big boy bed! : )

After nights AND days of frustration of getting him to stay in his bed and not come to the door and scream until he throws up, he has successfully slept in his bed ALL night the past 2 nights and has slept 3 naps in the bed as well.

Way to go Cohen!

Now I can sleep soundly knowing that he isn't escaping his crib and falling on his head :)

What makes my day!

his artwork! I will be "that mom" that saves all his work. I started a filing cabinet for all of Cohens progress reports and art work :) I remember my mom saved so much of our stuff as children it was so fun to go back and look through it all once we got older!

Hello big boy bed.....





The other day while Cohen was "napping" I heard a huge thud. Shortly after I heard footsteps running upstairs.... and there was COHEN! Out of his crib! He was so proud of himself regardless of the huge red mark on his forehead. All he kept saying was "hi hi hi hi". So proud he escaped. We knew this day was coming. We were planning on transitioning Cohen into a big boy bed by Dec-Jan and have Cale sleep in a basinnet until we felt Cohen was ready. However, looks like the crib will be ready to go in November since big boy training will start now. I am terrified for Cohen to be in the crib now!

Sink Time!

The other day Cohen stepped on something that cut his foot! :( Poor baby, so first instinct to stop the bleeding was throw his foot in the sink. Quickly the crying stopped when he realized how fun the sink was. We made it a fun game, a little too fun, he didn't want to get out. Now everytime we walk by the sink, Cohen will say "up. up. up".


I got him washing dishes!



His clothes got so wet, he ended up naked!!


I love these feet : )

Melody Makers

Every Wednesday morning at 9:15 Cohen and I attend Melody Makers. It is a 30 minute music class where we sing songs, learn a color and sing a song about it and then watch a puppet show. At the end the kids get a Gigi stamp on their hand. Gigi is the giraffe puppet that visits! Cohen is usually the center of attention in this class since he refuses to sit on my lap like all the other kids do with their parents, and RUNS around the room, knocks down Gigis house, etc. He has so much fun!!


Cohen quickly left me, and tried to find a new friend.


Oh, it worked! He made a new friend!

29 weeks!

29 weeks.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 29 weeks! one more week then i enter 3rd trimester!!!
Size of baby: 2.5 lbs.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I weigh what I weighed the day I delivered Cohen, and I still have two and half months to go, way to go Ash!
Maternity Clothes: Oh yeah.
Gender: boyboyboyboyboyboy :)
Movement: All the time!
What I miss: Sleeping, this is Gods way of preparing me to be up at all hours feeding the baby.
Sleep: indigestion (horrible), insomnia due to stress, and my big belly doesn't allow me to sleep comfortably. oh and i pee 7 times a night. other then that, great :)
Symptoms: indigestion.

Best Moment this week: the actual scheduling of my c section. november 29th (cohen was born jan 29th, see a pattern) they will be exactly 22 months apart if i dont go into labor before the 29th.
What I am looking forward to this week: My appointment Friday to make sure my gall bladder is okay!

2010 Rookie of the Year

Congrats to my husband for getting 2010 Rookie of the Year at Motormile Speedway! He is so thrilled to know all this time and hardwork paid off.

November 29th 2010

November 29th 2010 at 7:30am is going to be the BIG day of the arrival of Caleb Alexander Harris!!

We were scheduled for November 24th however the Dr and I steered away from that due to low staff at the hospital due to the holiday (Thanksgiving).
We then were thinking on that Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving, however my doctor is on call for another doctor, which means that he MAY not be the one to do my surgery. We didn't like that option either being that Dr. McClennan delivered Cohen, and I feel very comfortable with him. November 29th is a guarantee day that he will be there, he will be the one to deliver Caleb and Caleb will be full term. :) We felt more comfortable with this option. We are very excited to be on the books for this, so this is a definate date and will not be changed anymore!

Cohen's first day of preschool!!

Today was Cohens first day at Bethel Baptist Church Preschool. He is in the busy bee's class 2 days a week from 9-1. I love that he will have this experience of playing with new kids, new toys, and having some structure other then the one we have at home. Plussss, it gives me some "mommy time" for approximately 2 months, then it will be "mommy/caleb" time. Oh, and maybe some school, pampered chef time.

They were very impressed with Cohen on his FIRST day. They said he behaved very well. Was no problem at all. And colored great! :) I can't wait to take him on Tuesday because he seemed to LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Wild Child

I think if you have met Cohen, you agree that he is a VERY active little boy. He is very inquisitive. He loves to explore and loves to be the center of attention. :)

Today was first day back at Melody Makers. We went last Spring but didn't go in the summer so he has definitely grown since last time we were there. He is in a class from 9months to 36 months. Some of the kids are too little to walk, and some are old enough to understand, "sit still". or are so mesmerized by the surrounding they don't wish to get up. Here is what Cohen did:

• During "circle" singing time Cohen was up walking around to all the kids and their parents saying "hi, hi hi"
• He gave his ball away several times, then requested it back. I think of it as sharing :)
• During the whisper song, he yelled.
• During the puppet show while every one was watching in a circle, Cohen was trying to destroy the puppets house.
  
• He threw his tambourine at a small child. He got punished for this one.
• He tried to climb up in the teachers chair. Multiple Times.
• He tried to pull down the giraffe on the wall
• He tore the apple tree in half during the apple tree song.

Cohen did clean up when he saw others doing it so I was so impressed with him, we try to work on this at home, but he never does it, he actually makes more of a mess when I mention clean up so I was very proud to see him do this :) I love our wild child, and even if Cale is this wild as well, I will be somewhat prepared.

I keep being warned by Zachs family that this is exactly how Zach was as a toddler. Zach was in the ER 14 times by the time he was 6. I hope this part doesn't come true! Cohen just takes after daddy I suppose :)

Awful Arthur's, yes we met at a bar. We were the only two who were not drinking. We were both drug there by our friends. Once everyone started drinking and getting crazy I noticed Zach was the only other person who was as bored as myself, then we started talking.
