Our First Week...

doing Preschool at home :)

Recently I started doing schooling at home with Cohen. We found a great preschool curriculum here. It seemed very overwhelming at first and the Saturday before we started I spent over 4 hours just putting it all together, getting supplies, etc. But it was worth it. He and I really enjoyed doing this together. We even were able to include Caleb in some of the activities.  Enjoy a weeks worth of pictures. Tons of them

Our lesson was:

Letter "L"

Number 1

Color: Yellow

Sight Word: see

Bible Verse: Matthew 5:16 

Day 1

(introduced our board of the lesson)

 reviewed the verse and colored it

 made a candlestick and learned "this little light of mine"
The verse we are doing is to let your light shine among all men...
hence the candle stick and song

 worked on fine motor skills and hand eye coordination w small beads

 went on a letter/number hunt outside

 do you see cohens green "L"? :)

Day 2

 practiced writing "L"

 Made a book called "I see" since that is the sight word

 Caleb sorted pom poms :)

 Letter reconigition. He had to place the pom pom on any letter "L" or "1" he found

 Cutting our verse and putting it back together

Day 3

this day was review of what all we had learned and then some fun things :)
did a sensory bucket with coffee beans and tractors!

 played in a rainbow bath!

 laughed :)

 put our work in the binders

 made our craft which was letting cohen cut and put together his own candlestick
with the verse on it. 

 cohen received his certificate for completing the unit!

 couldn't leave caleb out so he got a binder too we put his coloring sheets in.

Day 4

Shape/Number recognition

We made a Tot book (found here)

 reviewed shapes/colors/numbers

 I tried to involve Caleb...

this is what I got.

 poor kid ended up being sick this day with a high fever, no wonder he was cranky.

Ok, I promise I will never post like this again. This was way too much work for me to strap my camera to me all week but I had document our first week :)

3 Reasons why I haven't been blogging....

This weather has been amazing. Its been in the high 70's! We have literally spent every day outside playing. :)

Speaking of playing... Here is video #2 of Caleb and his new love for sliding. He is so adorable. 

I could literally watch this video 5000x just to listen to he and Lilah laughing. Its so sweet :)

We started this program with Cohen this week. Any time spent inside this week was spent doing this. I will say I really have enjoyed it maybe more the boys : )  (blog to follow)

And the third reason.... is........

I am almost 31 weeks and my body is telling me to slowww down. I can really tell its 3rd trimester!!! I feel her move so much and I love it and am getting really excited. Her room is 98% done. I am waiting on the bedding to arrive... and to put up the mobile (I can't put it up until Caleb is out of the crib in her room b/c he would rip it to shreds! So for now it is hidden in a closet :)  So the time we aren't playing outside... or doing school... I am sleeping (even if it is 8pm, and light outside, just saying)  ; )

Sliding

I love this weather we have been having!!! We have been able to go to park or play outside 3x a week : )  This past week we did another playdate at the park!  Caleb is really starting to remind me of Cohen at that age.... scary huh? He wanted to go down the slide but I refused to help him (great mom huh?) just kidding. I just wanted to see if he would cry or try and figure it out...himself :)  He did... with the help of Vivian. So cute. I love them.

Homemade Starbucks Frap

One of my favorite blogs posted how to make your own homemade Starbucks frappucino.  I thought for sure it wouldn't be the same! That is one of my FAVORITE drinks at Starbucks... Too good to be true.. right?

Homemade Starbucks

Nope! I made it today because I was having an itch for something coffee flavored!

This was perfect. I do the caramel version but she has both caramel and mocha!

I didn't do the double strength coffee because my Keurig wouldn't let me but it still tasted really good, plus I dont love the coffee taste, I just like a tiny tiny bit of coffee plus tons of sugar and other fattening ingredients!

To Grammys house we go

This morning Cohen and Zach went to the car show at the civic center. This meant alone time for Mommy and Caleb :)  I thought he would really enjoy going to visit Grammy... without big bro to steal all the attention and focus.

He really enjoyed this alone time with us!

Thank You Grammy and Papa Bill for having us over so we could spoil Caleb, he loved it!

The boys and I made a trip to the library this week. They love it! Cohen loves sitting here and playing the games and listening to the stories...

Love looking for new books...

They have a fun house in the kids section that Caleb liked!

Best part about this trip was I told Cohen in the car to be thinking about what kind of book he wanted to get...  

The librarian came up to us and asked if we were looking for anything inparticular.. Cohens response was

"I would like a book on... skydiving."

Only our fearless child wants a book on skydiving.

We left with these..

but most importantly we left with his skydiving book. 

Which we had to check out from the adult section luckily it has some pictures of skydivers and the planes.
