End of the Year Celebration

Our Classical Conversations year has ended and each year we have an end of the year celebration with field day, awards, pizza and ice cream. I am so thankful for a group like this to help keep me accountable all year and most importantly for the children to be around other homeschoolers, make friends and have fun :) I didn't have my camera for Field Day but they really enjoyed it! Cohen won the prize for the running race for his age group and also the frisbee contest. Here he is getting his metal for one of the races.

PJ and Caleb enjoying the ice cream bar. Caleb came in very close for winning the running race also! He has requested to sign up for track. Presley....just tagged along but seemed to really enjoy seeing her friends as well from the nursery.

Soccer 2015

The boys had their last soccer game Saturday and received their trophies :) They did SO well and we enjoyed going to watch.

PS: Cohen is coping well with the loss of Honey Mustard and has started playing with the new chicks we have.

The chicken that will be missed....

Tuesday morning was a sad day here at the Harris home when we discovered that our chicken, Honey Mustard was attacked in the night. We were all pretty sad because she was a "family pet". Cohen, was the most affected because he had a very special bond with his chicken. 

He convinced his friends to hold her

He fed her Gluten Free bread- inside-on our couch.

He kissed her and petted her

He spent many evenings holding her while he watched TV.

She was always so calm when he would hold her unlike when the other children would hold her.

But she let them hold her :)

Cohen keeps asking to look at her pictures on my phone because "it makes him happy to see her".

Presley and Noelle

So thankful for our neighbor Noelle. She is a great friend to all the kids but Presley especially loves her since they can go upstairs and play Mommy or baby dolls. One time they even played "kittens" :) She is also homeschooled so as soon as everyone finishes school they can play! Based on this photo shoot we are going to work on teaching Presley to smile for pictures. I think she was so excited to be with Noelle!

It is NOT always this calm but when it is I love it!

One day during school Cohen wanted to write "fan mail" to a man who makes minecraft videos on youtube. 

His letter went something like this

"I am your biggest fan. Can I come to your house for 10 days to watch you play minecraft?"

 We called that "assignment" Manuscript :)

We are really working on his handwriting so this was perfect!

Annies Party/Girls Day

Saturday I had the privilege to take these 2 girls to their friend, Annies birthday party :) Presley loves Tensley and says "She is my best friend ever" I think you can tell by Presleys excitement.

Girl Conversations are much different than boys.

"Come to my house for a sleepover we can watch a girl movie!"

"I love you Presley. I love you Tensley"

"This is the best day EVER!"

are just some of the things I heard coming from the back seat :)

Celebrating Annie!

Our Week!

My CC kids! We finished up our last week of CC today for summer break. I will miss these kids. We aren't done with our homeschool- just community days. Excited for our end of the year celebration later this month!

Last Tuesday Presley had her first girl playdate with her friend Tensley while I took the boys to guitar. We made a pit stop to Brooks Byrd before for an orange aid! If you have never been there- go! I remember going as a child to Brooks Byrd to get orange aids. Such a fun memory! I hope the kids enjoy it as much as I did :)

This girl has a love for George Washington. Ever since we started learning about him in our homeschool she has been very interested. We read a book this week that he was in and she wanted her picture taken with him!

Our favorite bagger at Kroger. We have known him since Cohen was 9 months old!! The kids adore him! So his last day we went to Kroger to say our goodbyes!

Cohen lost his first tooth at the beach. His second on Thanksgiving and his third on Easter.
