Cohen has quite the obsession of penguins so when we went out yesterday he decided to tape pictures of penguins on his shirt.

A really fun tradition we do each year with Grammy.

He loves penguins so you can imagine his excitement to see penguins at the dollar tree. All of first grade also got one from Cohen for Christmas :)

I love this! Before break kindergarten students got to hang out in the senior commons with their senior buddy. Graham, Calebs buddy got him a nerf gun and a giant bag of skittles. We love his senior buddy!

This early riser surprised me one morning with his Christmas present to me. Tea lights.

It had been a busy weekend Presley was apparently ready for bed after their school Christmas party.

Saturday we stayed home and played inside most of the day. Presley (aka) Zach made this

I stole these from my friend, Kristin. The Salem Christmas parade has been a tradition for many years with our small group. We were missing two, Lisa and Jody.

Christmas season calls for gluten free gingerbread pancakes. 

And more baking with Presley and little Ryland!

The boys and Daddy were helping out at Grammys so Presley had her cousin Ryland over to play. She enjoyed watching him and playing "mommy".

We got our tree!

And Grammy sent over some ornaments. Cohen got a football player, Presley a ballerina and Caleb got a VT one. Zach and I, a beautiful front door with a wreath ornament. We wrote on the back the year of the remodel. 

Calebs love for Hokies goes way back because his popped up on my time hop from 6 years ago.

I guess Presley also loves Hokies because st a party Sunday she chose this as her face paint, even over my little pony, unicorns, rainbows, etc.

A great weekend spent together with the people we love and carrying our traditions. This tree holds many many memories. Each ornament has a story. Some are Zach's from childhood, some are mine, some represent Zach and I's first Christmas as a married couple with no money and our family dollar ornaments he bought on Williamson road, each child has ornaments that represent what they loved that year, plus sweet ones we have received as gifts over the years. 

Christmas caroling

A tradition in first grade is to go Christmas caroling. Mrs. Jordan is amazing and we are loving her as a teacher.

Each student made bags to hand out to the homes we visited. Cohens included a bible verse and a handmade Christmas card.

First house! They did so well and obviously had rehearsed all the songs :)

Afterward we enjoyed hot cocoa and snacks, and Cohen and his classmate, Alex compared headlamps. 

Class picture, it was crowded so I couldn't get everyone.

Ones from facebook, Cohens headlamp was a hit and helpful. Except he had to remember to turn it off at every house or he blinded those he sang to :)
