the ADVENTure of Christmas

I have read many wonderful reviews on this book to use with the boys for Advent. In this book there are 25 activities that help children find Jesus in all the holiday traditions that we do.

I highly recommend it :)

this time last year....

This time last year Caleb was only a few weeks old and Cohen was almost 2! I love looking back sometimes through pictures thinking what we were doing or what the kids looked like "this time last year" : )

 Cohen, i apologize I let your hair look like this. 

Although I just had a baby so I'll give myself a break on this.

You had a bruise on your head, surprise surprise nothing has changed with you!

Cohen is thankful for...

Today in church Cohen made this "turkey" and on the feathers he was asked what he was thankful for... here are Cohens responses:(in order)
 
1. potty (typical boy)
2. daddy and mommy
3. dookie and brother.  (dookie=duke the dog whom he apparently loves more then brother)
4. waffles (hehe)
5. toys.

at least he knows whats important. the potty and his parents :)

just love him!

I honestly can not believe it has already been a year since you entered this world!! We are so in love with you.

God has great plans for you Caleb and we just adore watching you learn and grow!

Yesterday I had my 14 week appointment (yay 2nd trimester!). I got a peek of our sweet baby :) Everything is measuring great and looks good.

I go back December 13th for another ultra...to determine gender (if babe will cooperate :) Oh, and thats my birthday. How fun!

Guesses? Boy or girl?

its that time of year...

to start using the wood stove! i used to complain about using it b/c zach would make the house unbearable, but we had a little talk about that.  but now i love it (i thought this day would never come) one, its free heat! can't beat that. two, it produces a type of warmth that no other kind of heat can even compare to and three, duke adores laying by the stove all day when its cold. we were nervous about the kids being around it but cohen is terrified of it and even caleb "gets it" and as soon as he feels the heat he steers away from it. zach is the biggest fan of it though. i think it makes him feel all manly to go chop wood and bring it in, and makes his beard a little more acceptable around here. lol :)

we even have a small helper that is learning to go out and get wood in the morning :)

okay so i hope you enjoyed reading about our 1920 way of living :)
