CC is over!

We have successfully gone through one year of homeschooling :) We had the end of the year celebration last week and it was so nice to see all the kids earn their awards! I truly love Classical Conversations and can't wait until next year. I loved tutoring, loved it! It kept me accountable to know all the material I had to present to my class then I could come home and teach it to Cohen with confidence! Cohen learned so much information in just one year! {24 weeks of History sentences, Science facts and experiments, English/Grammar, Latin, Timeline, all Presidents, 24 presentations, Ephesians 6:1-24, plus so much more!} We are looking forward to next year!!

Next year, Caleb will enter CC. He will be one of the youngest, or maybe the youngest but I want to set the foundation for him instead of putting him in childcare, he is really excited and he and Cohen will be in the same class :)

"I do it"

Miss independent used to love when I would read her books, it was... "our thing". She would pick a book, bring it to me sit on my lap and we would read. Now, she says "I do it!" and gets her book and looks at it herself.

She also has learned to sing her ABC's but if you try and sing with her or help her she exclaims "I do it!".

Can't believe she will be TWO in..12 days!

Layin on Eggs

One of our only two chickens left (Sproutlet, Presleys chicken) went MIA for a few days and we were worried, we finally discovered her... in a hiding spot, laying on her eggs :) What that means... CHICKS! She is ready to be a mother hen so she has been hoarding her eggs and sitting on them to incubate them until they are ready to hatch. So fascinating that she has been laying eggs for a year now and never had the desire to lay on them, but now she does! Oh the father is one of the roosters next door. We can't move her from her spot or she will stop laying on the eggs, so Zach made it as safe as he could for her and we board her up at night to protect her and her eggs : ) We also have to go and feed her and give her water because she will not get off those eggs! Once they hatch we will move them both to the coop. YAY for chicks! I am so excited our kids get to see the whole process, they have raised chicks before but now they get to see them hatch!

San Francisco 2014

Here is a glimpse of our trip to SF, I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted to but these surely are the highlights :) We had a great time and Interstate treated us so well and Zach learned so much about his job and the company!

 Our flight left early in the morning so we got to see the sunrise.
