I have always looked at our table much more then a table where we come to eat. This is where 4-5x a day we come to pray, talk, learn, and play. This is where my children hear the Gospel everyday, where Cohen is learning to add and subtract, where Caleb is learning his letters, where we hear about Daddys day at work, where we read our devotions, read our bibles, where drinks are spilled (at least twice a day), where discipline is needed, where Presley has learned to say the blessing, where I plan their school and our meals every week, where Daddy reads to us scripture every morning, where much sin takes place, and much grace takes place.
“Jesus’s salvation is a feast, and therefore when we believe in and rest
in His work for us, through the Holy Spirit, He becomes real to our
hearts. His love is like honey, or like wine. Rather than only
believing that He is loving, we can come to sense the reality, the
beauty, and the power of His love. His love can become more real to you
than the love of anyone else.” Tim Keller

Nice post. A little convicting. I loved your comment that it's where much sin takes place and much grace takes place. BOY IS THAT SO TRUE. For some reason, the dinner table is my LEAST favorite place and time of day. NO RULES are followed and after cooking a nice meal, the aggravation that takes place at the dinner table + a hot, homemade meal = much frustration.
