After months of the boys feeding the goats one of them finally let them get near her.

And pet her

And hold her

And kiss her.

She may or may not have felt like she was being held hostage by Cohen but that's besides the point ;)

5 on Friday

{One} Presley can now say so many words, sniff. She can say (mommyyyyy, daddy, bro bro, dog, duke, ball, hello, bye bye, mememe (when she wants something) milk, snack, up, down, momaw, popaw, suzie (their dog), shoes, uh oooo, more, please, and thank youuuu. She is becoming less.. dramatic :)

{Two}  Cohen is turning into an "old man".  Zach and I are joking about that because past few weeks he is becoming super independent. Yesterday, he made his own breakfast (chicken nuggets) without even asking for my help. Of course that is not going to happen usually but it was a cute gesture. and he was outside playing and got dirty which now is a huge no no (to him). He can't stand one dirt or water spot on his clothing (what happened to my fearless, dirt loving son?) or skin and immediately exclaimed "I'm getting in the shower". I didn't really believe he would. 5 minutes later, shower is running, he got himself a towel, new clothes, started the water, and was taking a shower. Alone. Without my help. :(

{Three} Caleb, Caleb, Caleb.  Everyday after he is done with "school" usually around 10:30 he is allowed to go outside and play with Noelle while I finish up with Cohen. They homeschool as well, she is same age as Caleb and finishes the same time since its preschool. It's a special thing and he loves it and looks forward to that time every.single.day. Also helps me as I get to have adult conversations with Mrs. Shannon as I tote Miss Presley and Cohen plays with the older girl, Rachel who is 10. Win/Win. Really helps our mornings to get out and play before lunch and rest.

{Four} Cohens presentation this week for school was a show and tell, he picked to show daddys special Interstate Battery collectible car that the boys are NOT allowed to touch. It was between that or daddys racing trophy. Co picked the car. 

Cohen: "This is my daddys race car, he races real cars"
Mrs. Thompson: "Oh, yall go watch races"
Cohen: "No, I said my dad RACES cars"
Mrs. Thompson "Oh, your daddy actually races"
Cohen: "Yes"
Cohen: "Any questions?"  (They say that at the end of their presentations)
Caleb (boy in class): "Who does your daddy race?"
Cohen: "ummm, Jeff Corvette"

Best part about this. Jeff Corvette is a character off of Mcqueen (Supposed to portray Jeff Gordon I think). So the fact that Cohen thinks that his daddy races Jeff Gordon, or Jeff Corvette was hilarious. And how defensive he got when his teacher didn't understand his daddy really races.

{Five} My mom and Papa Bill have been in Europe past 2 weeks visiting my sister who lives in England, and I really miss her. I talk to her everyday at least once. And see her usually twice a week. She comes back Tuesday and the kids and I just can't wait! :)

Radford Science Day 2013

Today was Cohen's first field trip as a homeschooler :)

Radford University was so nice to open up a Science Day for 70 homeschoolers. So we were able to go with a group from CC. 

It was geared for k-3rd so of course we took this opportunity, and went.

Cohens day started with me catching him eating chicken nuggets and honey mustard at 6:50 am (He got them out of the freezer, got his own place, fork, knife, honey mustard, cooked it and sat down an enjoyed, all without my knowledge). 

This was his field trip day "breakfast" he told me. 

Activity #1 was the Chemistry Lab.

Next up, Geology museum

Then, the greenhouse.

We only stayed half the time because I had to get Miss P from Momaws but before we left we took a quick walk to the dorm I once lived in... 10 years ago. wow.

I may or may not have gotten a glimpse of my children getting older and going off to college, and got sad.

Way home I heard Cohen talking to someone. I turn around, turns out he was touching each and every bug bite and praying over each.one.

Then Cohen decided on another car photo shoot.

The way to eat Oreos

Pull off top,

hand to dog or throw on floor.

Eat the middle.

Throw the rest of the cookie down. 

I see a recurring theme here!

Repeat.

He must have had my phone one day in the car and decided it was time for a photo shoot

We survived

We survived our first week homeschooling

:)

Before we start each morning, boys do their "chores" or Zach calls "responsibilities".

Here, I bribed Cohen that if he finished his work we could go play with Jax for lunch.

We are studying Egypt, so the boys painted their own Pharaoh hats.

Calender time :)

By Thursday, one was down with a fever. 

:(

So they did this, instead of school.

Friday, back at it with a more "fun" day since one was recovering so I let him do some of Caleb's activities instead.

Co, aka spiderman did his phonics and sight words on the computer.

Anytime Co does a project we usually hang it by his bed so he can look at his while he tries to sleep. So I thought we could hang up our school work so he could look at it with his lantern while trying to fall asleep,
with his sight words and sentences, his memory verse, timeline cards, science biome work, his angry bird drawing, and his letter A he got to paint with Caleb.

We also read:) Calebs theme was Alligators/Crocodiles and Cohens was Ancient Egypt.

We survived week 1. Only 12 years and 70 weeks to go, actually its more then that once I consider Presley, but whose counting ;)
